There are three main reasons. Firstly, I am definitely a Vancouver Island wooly bugger—I like the great outdoors, Blundstone boots, and big beards. Secondly, it’s a memorable name that sparks conversation. And last but not least, it is an homage to one of the most famous lures for fly fishing.
I am fully mobile and will come to you! That being said, make sure to follow my social media postings for the locations of my pop-up events and market visits in the near future.
Most knives take about 10 minutes each to sharpen properly. Typically, a set of 5–7 standard kitchen knives takes about 45 minutes. For specialty blades—such as Japanese or custom knives—or for those requiring extensive repair, it will take longer.
For household kitchen knives with regular use, we recommend professional sharpening every 6–12 months. Professional chefs should have their knives sharpened every 1–2 months. Hunting knives typically need sharpening before and after hunting season. Regular honing between sharpenings with a honing steel will help maintain the edge longer.
My goal is to make this as easy as possible for you. First, contact me and set up an appointment. I’m able to come to your home, office, place of business, etc. Once we’ve settled on a date, time, and address for a visit, I will sharpen on-site and return your items to you after. Porch pickups are always an option if you are unable to meet me in person!
There is a minimum service charge starting at $40, but I would prefer not to enforce it. If you have any friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors that would like to be added to the visit, I would greatly appreciate it.
99% of the time, the answer is a resounding “yes”!
We live in a throwaway culture, and I’m happy to give some extra life to your tools and avoid the landfill for another day.
